This book provides a record of mylife events, with personal thoughts and opinions, beginning in America'sIowa Heartland, and then encompassing significant events in Arizona, Oklahoma, California, Pennsylvania and the EnchantedLand of New Mexico. The book is based on recordedinformation, data and personal knowledge related to family genealogy,midwestern agriculture, medicine, orthopaedic surgery, family events and travelexperiences. Efforts to replace my beloved Dorothy, who died of breast cancer,let to romantic sagas, and final success with marriageto Karen. The pre-World War II farm lifethat I describe has now markedly changed. Modem medicine is constantly makingstrides for diagnoses and for medical and surgicaltreatmentsuccesses. Some methods to meet a marriage partner have changed, buttime-honored methods continue to be sound. An adolescent dream of worldtravel was achieved by attending surgical and medical conventions and byjoining travel groups visiting cities and countries on six continents.
