The Bob-o-links: the Battle of Britain Links
Welles Fendrich
The "BOB-O-LINKS is Mr. Fendrich's first novel. The theme of the book follows the lives of a set of characters that survive living and fighting in England in the forties and who represent, then and today, the best that Britain has to offer, their "Greatest Generation." Some of the war time life experiences are based on comprehensive interviews held by Mr. Fendrich with people who lived during the Battle of Britain and the Blitz. A number of the war scenes, including Dunkirkand RAF encounters with the Germans, are based on actual event reporting. For the most part, the scenes takes place in East and West Sussex, an area of Britain with which Mr. Fendrich is acquainted. It is felt that the stories unfurled in the book will appeal to the children and the grandchildren of the "Greatest Generation". It also should appeal to others who enjoy having history revealed through fiction that supports a strong moral philosophy, as well as to those Brits and American travelers who love the south coast, its beautiful countryside, and the unique cities of Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove, and East bourne among others.
