Bwana is conceived as a young boy straight out of the "Heart of Darkness" (Congo, Central Africa) and the entire family is exiled out of Africa escaping certain death as political prisoners. While still back home he is taught English by cassette tapes of FE LA KUTI, PAPA WEMBA, JIMMY CLIFF, and BOB MARLEY. Amazingly, in just a little over two decades NK Bwana ascends to become an author, poet, playwright, performing artist, teacher, lecturer, humanitarian and continued political activist!
