Wolf Brethren is about the Ancestors and Descendants of Jacob and Hannah Kinsey Wolf. The Wolf family immigrated to America in 1727 on the ship William and Sarah settling with German Palatinates in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. A documented story of Jacob Wolf a teamster and his wife Hannah Kinsey whose mother was captured by the Indians and father who was in the Lancaster County Pennsylvania Militia during the American Revolution. This is a story of migration from Lancaster County into Virginia probably along the Wilderness Road and then on to Miami Valley, Ohio likely along the National Road. From Ohio the Wolf family dispersed to Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, North Dakota, Idaho, Washington, California and even to Alberta, Canada. Included in the work are 97, 771text records about 6518 individuals with 1566 surnames and 2191 marriages, spanning 1 7 generations with an average lifespan o f 55 years 2 months. The Wolf and Kinseys were closely allied with the Church of the Brethren. Sons Jeremiah and Jonathan served as deacons. Many of the descendants of Jeremiah are ministers and missionaries. Some became members of the United Brethren Church a German branch of the Wesleyan movement. Hence the title of this work, Wolf Brethren.
