Gassia Artin
In this volume Gassia Artin undertakes a comprehensive reasssessment of the Chalcolithic of Byblos, a site 40 km to the north of Beirut in Lebanon which was excavated extensively by Maurice Dunand between 1925-73, but which remained largely unpublished. Using the archives of Dunand and his assistant Jean Lauffray, as well as artefacts from the excavations now preserved in museums, Artin maps all of the available information to enable spatial analysis of the burials, their contents and of habitation structures and thus gain a chrono-spatial picture of the development of the site during the 4th millennium BC.
