Lithics in the Scandinavian Late Bronze Age: Sociotechnical Change and Persistence (British Archaeological Reports British Series)
Anders Hogberg
This volume examines the large flint knife blade asking why these artefacts were so common in the late Bronze Age of southern Scandinavia, a time which is supposed to be characterised by the transition from bronze to iron technology. Based on the results of studying the archaeological material from a wide geographical area centred around Malmo, Hogberg analyses the coexistence of iron and flint technology and the eventual replacement of the latter, in terms of broader social change and tensions.
