The Sorrows of a Modern-day Werther

Judging from the few pages you sent, you''''ve written a very good book. - Carol Goar, The Toronto Star At first it may appear, that this unknown writer has a colossal gall to give his first novel the title so closely resembling that of the famous classic by the eighteenth century German literary giant. But of course, he does not claim that he even remotely approaches Goethe's eloquence and elegance. In fairness, however, it should be noted that this book is not likely to be subject to the criticism Goethe's short novel suffered on account of being short on content. The fact, that the tragic hero of this book is a 35 year old economist, who lived through turbulent times (while Goethe's Werther is a 23 year old poet) provided the author with ample material, which he seems to have put to good use.
