A third-generation physician from Wisconsin, he directs the Preventive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation programs at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta . He also serves as a team physician for the Atlanta Braves and the team cardiologist for Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Beat women's professional soccer team. In 1996, Dr. Cantwell served as Chief Medical Officer, for the Olympic games, ultimately responsible for the medical care of 10,000 athletes and 1.5 million Spectators. A member of the Explorers Club, he has enjoyed adventure travels on all seven continents.
