The Belgrade government in Serbia began ethnic cleansing Kosovo early in 1999. All followers of Islam were driven from their homes, young men killed, young women routinely raped. Refugees by the hundreds of thousands went to Albanian refugee camps. One World Under God begins as a talented Muslim artist is frozen in terror watching her world swept away before her eyes. Stranded, she is hiding in a mountain cave. Her brother cannot desert his KLA post to take her safely to relatives. He entrusts her to an American correspondent who is defying the order to leave the country. After he gets video proof of the atrocities before leaving Kosovo, he promises to be as a brother to her as they hike out to Montenegro.
