This book has recorded verbatim the e-mailed conversation of an ordinary man and woman, who express with complete frankness the way their own genders think and feel about the commonplace disappointments, frustrations and misunderstandings that arise in relationships. When I was asked to review this relationship dialog book, authored by two people that I know well, I didn't expect to be moved. I thought that the reading would feel stilted and forced like people in home movies that can't seem to act natural because they're on film. To my surprise, I didn't even have to pretend that I didn't know the authors as I read it; I forgot almost immediately. That, more than anything, tells me that this is good reading. I also looked at the book with a critical eye. Due to the nature of the subject, I expected to be turned off by broad generalizations and faulty logic as each person shouted to be heard. Instead, I found myself seeing both points of view, which is the goal ultimately. I recommend this book to anyone, male or female, who wants insight into the complexities of the opposite sex.
