With a comic style reminiscent of Catch-22 and Confederacy of Dunces, Ross' novel moves at a scorching pace with the hilarity and wit offset by disturbing scenes of dysfunction and violence. The reader will find himself laughing out loud at the hilarious situations and vivid characters but at the same time wishing that he, too, could escape from all or most of them and their dimwit boss. By the end of the book the reader feels he has 'been there and done that' and has been somehow changed by the experience. Two thumbs up!
