Combining human and animal genes, military scientists illegally alter human DNA creating Homo Animus, a new species of man. This genetically altered being possesses mental and physical abilities never before seen in man. It could easily become the ultimate warrior the military is seeking, but this new creature also possesses a unique spiritual awareness. It is soon discovered that even casual contact with this being produces a sense of peacefulness and well being never before experienced. No one seems to be immune. The creature believes its purpose is to help man, not destroy him. It refuses to become the superior soldier it was designed to be, so the U. S.
