A General Transit Corporation engineer, Volans Mirfak, is kidnapped to Star Colony Alioth through the Infinity Field. Alioth is in the midst of a banking collapse. Anyone who cannot get a credit ID card must leave the Dome.

Only Alyson Dahlia Forbs, daughter of a Senator and Portfolio Manager at General Transit on Alioth, can get Dion and Volans out of the trouble they are in.
