He worked at Stanford University Medical center for 13 years as a Certified Psychiatric RN specializing in the care of children with eating disorders, and was also Director of Staff Development at Harbor Hills Hospital in Santa Cruz. The author currently lives on the West Coast. Thomas L. Marshall's writing focuses on the themes of sexuality, faith and violence in contemporaneous settings. His first book, Rough, is an autobiography focusing on recovery from child abuse, coming out, surviving the AIDS epidemic and lost love, substance abuse, and finding a place and society. His second book, Soldier Boy, volume one of the Adventures of Bryce Tyconnel, is a 2013 Lambda Literary Foundation Erotic Romance Finalist. The Adventures of Bryce Tyconnel is LGBT affirming literature.
