Contributor Bio:  Reclus, Elisee Fils d'un pasteur qui eut dix-sept enfants (parmi lesquels l'ecrivain Elie, le geographe Onesime et le medecin Paul Reclus), Elisee Reclus (1830-1905) est une figure originale de la science francaise du XIXe siecle: il integre l'etude de la societe a la geographie. Auteur d'une uvre abondante, cet ami de Bakounine et de Kropotkine ecrit a la fois une "Nouvelle Geographie universelle" en dix-neuf tomes (1876-1894) et "L'Evolution, la Revolution et l'Ideal anarchique" (1897). Geographe reconnu de son vivant, ce grand voyageur est aussi un farouche militant libertaire - engagement dont il paiera le prix: exil sous le Second Empire et bagne apres la Commune.
