It is especially intended as a handy reference for youngermembers of those tribes, who see a lot of educational material about therest of the world, but not so much about their own. A second purpose is to provide important and interestinghistorical material about these tribes to the general public, to encouragebetter understanding and greater respect towards the nativepeople of this land. The heritage of these tribes is much too great and complicated tocover in a single book, especially one of this size. Readers areencouraged to seek out volumes listed in the bibliographies for furtherstudy and information.
