Julio Millares
Joy's Book is a collection of humorous, affectionate tales about the fears and troubles kids have in their early years, such as when a new sibling arrives, falling down the drain when the water is going down the pipes, a loved one passing away, suffering bullying and mockery, the first love, etc. Imagination has no boundaries for them and anything is possible, if we follow the original issue's narrative logic. Every story is told from the child's point of view and the highly dramatic content of the issues they face is clearly reflected in them. In the story "Doesn't want to bathe" the girl doesn't want to do it and the father convinces her to do it by playing with her favorite animals. The game begins and the girl has fun while bathing. Julio Millares won the Vargas Llosa Prize for novels and the Imaginaria Prize for children's stories. He lived in Brazil, Italy, France, Mexico and Sweden before returning to his native Argentina. He is a professor at the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Cuyo.
