The story takes place during the first half of the twentieth century. It starts a typical day in the life of Chicaramochi Tanaka, better at his job than with people. He is somehow bitter and wonders whether he should just end it.

The Sasori Oni is tired of the curse that condemns its way of living, but the Gods are not ready to relieve it. Desperate for a change, The Oni grabs the opportunity to help the despondent Tanaka.

However, the last thing Tanaka wants is help, and especially not from a demon. Going against the challenge the persistent Oni puts before him, Tanaka soon realizes he has more than one demon to face.
