The Passing Tree
Daniel Furlong
The Passing Tree (P. T.) was born in Wausau Wisconsin in the Spring of 1921. Descended from a long line of storied oaks, P. T. grew to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in Wausau High School football history. In P. T.'s senior year, after working as an ironworker in the off-season, P. T. teamed up with Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch, to go undefeated and win the State Championship. Though, P. T.'s passing ability was legendary, the scouts felt that she was too slow to play Division 1 football and she was not offered a scholarship. Following her senior year, P. T. enrolled at Lewis and Clark College in Albany, Oregon to study environmental law.
