In 1980s Afghanistan, the land where local legend says Cain fled after killing Abel, American journalist Elizabeth Owen becomes one of the first female correspondents to journey into the forbidden warzone of the Afghan-Soviet conflict, where brother fights brother and son bitterly opposes father.
