This book, more than anything else, is about understanding the objectives of a project engineer and developing a viewpoint to achieve those objectives. Now, I am not suggesting you will follow these all the time. If you are an engineer worth your salt in your discipline, you will occasionally engage in some "recreational engineering." By that I mean you will, in the course of your work, come across an occasional problem that is so interesting that you will spend a day or two or even a week further engrossed in it than the project needs warrant. Nevertheless, if you do adopt the ideas in this book, you will most likely have more time, be more creative and less stressed out than your current method of approaching your work allows.
