Keiara and her son Vell had survived the war and found a home in a quiet town. Working as a mercenary to provide for her family, Keiara learns of a mission that could put them all in danger. She now must decide how to face this new threat to the most important thing in her life, her son Vell.

Set in a sword-clashing, horse-riding, fantasy world with a dash of science-fiction, the Heindt series tells a story about how events affect the characters, and the characters affect events. Everyone has a journey to take, whether it is an actual journey or just a journey of experience. And often times, a new beginning requires something to end.
