Murphy, was a well-known historian and writer who authored dozens of books and articles on the history of the American West. But some of his most endearing and enduring work is contained in this short compilation of historical sketches. This updated edition includes the entire text of the original out-of-print version, with the addition of dozens of historical photos, maps, and illustrations.
