A bilingual book in French and English with beautiful watercolour illustrations by the artist Marigold Plunkett. The book follows a little girl, her brother and their puppy Leo for one day in the summer holidays. The children decide to go on a picnic and have to choose between the forest the playground or the beach. They go to the beach and spend their day flying a kite and splashing in the sea. The day is almost spoiled by the puppy Leo who eats all their picnic, but an ice cream seller comes to the rescue and the day is saved. The book is designed to learn basic French (or English!) about summer, the beach and a day out. The illustrations evoke summer beach holidays from 1970's England.
