The F.e.a.r. of the Lord (Virtuous Warriors Series) (Volume 2)

The purpose of this study is to look past what man has said about the fear of the Lord and look to what God?s word says on the subject. We will find many Scriptures that will help us understand a more in-depth meaning. We will find how the fear of the Lord can bless our life, strengthen our body, give us health, and make us wise. The F. E. A. R. of the Lord is set up as an acronym to bring a fullness of all that the fear of the Lord can bring into our lives. ?F? is about our Faithful Fellowship to the Father in heaven. This section will deal with prayer, which will include how to pray and when to pray. It will deal with Bible study how to evaluate your Bible and hear God through it. It will also deal with how faithful we are to spend time with God and how faithful we are to spend time with His people. ?E? is our Expressions of Exaltations to the Father. In every relationship, we express how we feel with our words and actions. Expressions of love and gratitude should be heard by God and seen by others. We can exalt God by living for Him in our everyday life and testifying of His greatness to those around us. This shows a consistent lifestyle. ?A? is our Attitude to Apply His teachings. Application is our obedience to God. Our attitude toward God is seen in how well we listen and obey His commands. An attitude can be good or bad, attractive or ugly and whichever one we display to people is the one we display to God. Obeying with a bad attitude usually means we are just following rules without love. Obeying with a good attitude usually means that we are willing to obey because of respect and love for God. Our attitude in obedience is very important in our relationship with Him. ?R? is Recognition to Reverence. We must recognize God for who He is, what He says, and how He works to revere Him. This section will show you how to recognize God?s voice, His actions, and His people. The goal of this study is to bring a better understanding of the fear of the Lord. It has been explained away with simple definitions. Some have said that it is like the honor and respect that you have for your earthly father. Others have said that you shouldn?t fear Him as the boogieman, but as your Creator. Understanding the fear of the Lord is not easy when the explanations are so vague. It is more than just honor and respect; it?s about a relationship with our Father. It?s about intimacy with our Creator. It?s about love beyond the flesh, joy without words, and peace that surpasses understanding. To walk in the fear of the Lord should be a delight to us as it was for Jesus. The question of ?WWJD? (What Would Jesus Do) can be answered in this study. He was faithful to fellowship with His Father. ?So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.? Luke 5:16. He exalted His Father in everything, from Matthew 4:4, ?Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God? to John 19:11 ?You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above.? He had an attitude of obedience to His Father, ?And being found in appearance as a man, He (Jesus) humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.? Philippians 2:8. He recognized who His Father was and what His Father said, ?My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.? John 7:16. So, what would Jesus do? He would delight in the fear of the Lord, ?His delight is in the fear of the Lord.? Isaiah 11:3. As you learn what it means, and how to grow in it, may your delight also be in the fear of the Lord.
