Dancers of the Third Age, set in present day in Arizona, is the story of three women. Libby is a recent widow who adored her husband. Together they were foster parents, gave time and money to repair homes for the poor. Alone now, feeling unnecessary and out dated, Libby struggles to find purpose in her life. Her friend Ginger is a self made millionaire, who believes in plastic surgeons, gin in anything and her fourth husband. Their ideas on how the world runs is shaken when Anna Mae, an acquaintance, dumps her long held, deep, dark secret on them. Fighting their distate for Anna Mae, Libby and Ginger get coerced into helping Anna Mae face what she did so long ago. Their journey both challenges and changes them and those they meet along the way.
