The author, Samson Negbo Abangma, is a native speaker of the Dényá language of Cameroon. This study shows how discourse structure seems to influence the use of verb forms. Looks at modes in narrative, procedural, expository, and hortatory discourse. Includes five texts in English and Anyang.

This book is based on the author's doctoral thesis --University of Yaounde , 1981.
