Apache Legends are the stories orginally related in song by Lou Cuevas' full-blooded Apache grandfather about the origin of many desert or prairie creatures, such as the roadrunner, hummingbird, buffalo and rattlesnake which were important in the Apache worldview. The tales are often humorous and always indirectly teach a moral by which Apahe children were intructed in noble human values.
