Archaeological sites do not exist in isolation. They are part of a regional pattern of adaptation...' - Introduction . This study examines the implications of seasonal determinations for horse and reindeer, obtained from cementum analyses, for exisiting models of subsistence and settlement in the Aquitaine Basin. The application of cementum analysis to a new species, E. caballus , is tested, and problems with the methodology are delineated.
