Essentially a continuation of Wheeler's Historical Sketches of North Carolina from 1584 to 1851, this scarce work contains extensive genealogies of over sixty-five eminent families, with reminiscences of their times and additional biographical and historical material. Once again, chapters are arranged by counties in alphabetical order, with sixty-two of the early counties treated, largely from the viewpoint of family history.
