Index to the Superior Court Records of Sonoma County, California Inc Sonoma Co Geneal Soc

In 2014, the Friends of Santa Rosa Libraries funded a project to convert the microfilm images of the existing Sonoma County Superior Court record indices to digital images. Volunteers from the Sonoma County Genealogical Society transcribed the records of the General Plaintiff Indices, volumes 2 and 3, and the General Defendant Indices, volumes 2 and 3, from these digital images to produce the first rough draft of an index in early 2017. Volunteers also abstracted information from nine volumes of original Sonoma County Superior Court Registers of Actions (volumes 8-16) and one volume of Sonoma County Superior Court Criminal Actions (volume 17) for the same time period, capturing each suit's cause (when noted), Register of Actions or Criminal Actions volume and page reference(s), and action date. This book is arranged in three sections: A comprehensive name index for all Sonoma County Superior Court suits from 1890 through 1899; Superior Court Suits (1890-1899), which lists each suit's suit number, plaintiffs, defendants, cause, Register of Actions volume and page number(s) reference, and action date; and, Superior Court Criminal Suits only (1896-1899). A total of 2856 Sonoma County Superior Court suits for the years 1890 through 1899 are indexed in this publication. Both civil and criminal cases are included.
