The volumes cover chronologically the major periods of Kodaira's mathematical concentration and reflect his collaboration with other prominent theoreticians. Thus they begin with early works that discuss the application of Hilbert space methods to differential equations, and the use of elementary solutions to prove regularity theorems for strongly elliptic systems of partial differential equations. Originally published in 1975. Contributor Bio:  Kodaira, Kunihiko Kunihiko Kodaira (1915-1997) worked in many areas including harmonic integrals, algebraic geometry and the classification of compact complex analytic surfaces. He held faculty positions at many universities including Tokyo, Harvard, Stanford, and Johns Hopkins, and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He was awarded a Fields medal in 1954 and a Wolf Prize in 1984.
