Luiz Almeida, the patriarch of the Brazilian family, his intelligent and beautiful granddaughter, Gabrielle and a strong-willed, but very troubled, young Vietnamese man, Dai Ca Phung, are the individuals who form the basis of this epic story that spans the period between 1956 and 2014.



Dai is infused with hatred of "anything American", due to his tragic upbringing in Vietnam. He uses this to plan a devastating attack on the coffee plantation, owned by the Almedia family, Nova Coffee ... Brazil's biggest exporter of top-quality coffee to the USA. All goes to plan, until Cupid fires his romantic arrows.
