Affiliated with the University of Melbourne, Trinity was penurious in the 1980s until a bold band of alumni, with a willing Warden, unleashed a brave plan to establish a pathway for international students to the University of Melbourne. The University Dream portrays the ups and downs in the first ten years of this truly entrepreneurial startup. It is a story of determined individuals and high calibre institutions; of co-operation and commitment; of vision and discipline; of a program with a philosophy, and an organisation with a focus. Above all, it is a story about 'the courage to go', displayed over thirty years by more than twenty thousand teenagers who left their homelands in Asia to travel to Australia to pursue their dream of a degree from the University of Melbourne by enrolling at Trinity, completing Foundation Studies, and going on to complete their degrees.
