It becomes big news when more than two dozen people mysteriously receive a stack of one hundred dollar bills in the mail. The money is accompanied by a simple card with a computer printed sticker on the inside saying, "Thank you for kindnesses rendered. Jeazel Pete." Maids cleaning rooms at Clantel Inns find envelopes with money enclosed and a thank-you card signed by Jeazel Pete. Everyone is wondering just who is Jeazel Pete?

The story begins to unfold when Art Deleigh, a singer and songwriter, and his girlfriend, Tina Kloker, are surrounded by state troopers in Kentucky and then transferred into the custody of federal agents. Art believes he'll be going to prison for a very long time, or he'll become a national hero.

Art is a broken soul so down in life he resorts to the unthinkable: he breaks into a prison to steal drugs.
