Don had a zest for life and passion for art. He was outgoing and enjoyed exchanging ideas with a wide variety of people. His positive attitude and inquisitive nature, kept him interested in everyone and everything. His positive attitude and inquisitive nature kindled his interest in everyone and everything. The United States Marine Corps was an important part of his life, and he spent a total of six years as a marine. A big section of The Chronicles of My Life contains stories about his war experiences. Don spent many happy hours creating beautiful paintings and drawings. Marriage and children came later in life for Don. He was so happy to have found Virginia, his wife, with whom he could share his life. When his children came along, he felt his blessings had multiplied beyond his wildest imagination. Don Raphael Madden finished writing his book at the age of 79. Even though he did not live to see his book in print, he took such joy in putting it together. Don Raphael Madden4/22/27-10/13/06
