Gramby greeted her quite cheerfully-but, for some reason Katie had the feeling her grandmother wasn't quite sure of just who she was. Katie has always lived with her grandmother, whom she affectionately calls "Gramby." Over the years, Katie and Gramby form many cherished memories because of their tradition of baking Christmas cookies any time they need them. There are cookies to distract from the irritating itch of chicken pox, to ease the pain of a broken arm, and, of course, for every Christmas, birthday, or any other celebration that comes along. Now, just when Katie is starting college, Gramby is losing her memory. Katie is devastated. She knows she must salvage as many of those cherished memories as possible and find a way to communicate with a woman who can't even remember her name. The Christmas cookies become the key, and Katie soon realizes what she must do to help her beloved Gramby-and herself.
