Harrison Sanders, is a successful Black businessman living in the Pacific Northwest sporting a white demographic mindset. When his best friend dies and bequeaths Harrison his estate, which includes a house in upstate New York, he is catapulted to wealth and explores his options. Harrison sets out on a journey to unravel the threads of suspicion wrapped around his white friends cloak and dagger life. When he sojourns to the house in upstate New York, he is foolishly vulnerable to the upstate aura and encounters a childhood friend, who tells him about a nearby town called Chisolm. The friend not only conveys the beauty and newness of the town, but also succinctly states that the thriving towns inhabitants are all black, and mostly wealthy. Finding Chisolm brings together an assemblage of diverse characters who become emotionally intertwined in Harrisons struggle to either bask in the euphoria of his black roots or marry his Vietnamese girlfriend, because in Chisolm, they are mutually exclusive.
