The Nutt House
Joseph Currey
Heres a darn good suspense novel along the lines of The Thin Man - intrigue, romance and humor, but most of all its a well-crafted murder mystery painstakingly solved by the storys protagonist, Sam Wade, P. I. The Nutt House is a fast-paced story providing a chuckle or two along the way to finding our what really happened to Harry Nutt that cold, icy night he went off the Willow Creek bridge. We encounter a dozen well-defined characters including ex-cop Sam now trying to make it as a private investigator, amorous middle-aged librarian Hazel Nutt looking for the kind of adventure that she had only read about, Leroy, a pimple-face lad who seemingly lives on peanut butter sandwiches and stares at pretty ladies through mysterious glasses, Beanie, who wears a propeller-driven beanie that appears to run on magic and the beautiful widow, June Nutt, whose deck seems to be missing a few cards - but then again, maybe not. Well find out when Sam re ready for a good mystery thats fun to read, has a surprise ending and features dialog as crisp as a December morning in Vermont - then you belong in The Nutt House!
