It is the eighteen hundred and as the Civil War rages, the passionate story of the Southern gentlemen Van Walling, and the ingenuous Laura unfolds: Maggie resigned to her own shackles of white slavery, reveals to Van the dire situation of the virginal fourteen-year-old Laura, being held prisoner for the perverse entertainment of the highest bidder.
