After discovering her mother's lifeless body, university student Hazel Patel decides to leave the safety of Center City and seek out the father she has never met. In the process, she winds up in the feared wilderness struggling to survive with a group of work camp escapees. When the handsome leader of the fugitives makes clear that he thinks Hazel is a spy, her safety is threatened. She must come of age quickly, prove herself, and choose a side in the coming revolution.
