The writer kept steadily in view the fact that he was preparing a class-book to be read, not in one or two sittings, but in short portions, spread over many weeks. This will account for some repetitions which might otherwise seem out of place. At the same time, feeling that such a book might prove acceptable to many of the younger members of our congregations, the writer has tried to throw in the repetitions he thought necessary in the way least calculated to make them tedious to the more continuous reader.
