Astrid Barberi's world is on the brink of war.



Though her country, Eurona, is the strongest in Arcias, it is under a constant threat of war from both the North and the South. Her father, King Sabastian, agrees to marry her off to the crown prince of Noritia in order to end that threat. However, this offer is not as generous as it seems. The Noritian royal family has ulterior motives. They want complete control over Arcias and are willing to do anything in order to get it.



Soon, Astrid is all but a hostage in a country that isn't her own, with few allies and an unwanted fiancé constantly hovering over her shoulder. Astrid must fight in order to save not only her country, but her family as well. When she ultimately loses the fight, only one goal remains: to destroy the family that took her away from her own.
