This book presents the longest two of Branwell's surviving manuscripts: "The Life of Field Marshal the Right Honorable Alexander Percy, Earl of Northangerland, Lord Viscount Elrington, Lord Lieutenant of Northangerland, Premier of Angria, Major General of the Verdopolitan Service" and "Real Life in Verdopolis". They reveal a neglected literary talent in the fourth Bronte, and provide an important context for the novels his sisters later wrote.
