Understanding Lagna is the first and most important step in Jyotisa. Even though the Udaya Lagna is the most significant and widely used, other Lagnas must also be judged for increasing the accuracy of judging a Kundali. Besides Udaya, Candra Lagna is also widely used. But Lagnas such as Bhava, Hora and Ghati are less popular among the Jyotisa community.

There are also Lagna such as Arurha, Karaka and Karakañsa Lagna that add a different level of richness to assessment. The principle of Lagna is extended to judging the lives of our relatives.
