Concerns about the crisis of traditional philosophy introduce philosophical counseling as a return of philosophy to its orriginal mission of guiding the individual's efforts to search for a good, a fully examined and balanced life, through various methods, out of which appreciative philosophical counseling methods are the main focus of this book. According to the authors, philosophical practices are included in the sphere of communicative action. The relative incompatibility between philosophical practice and traditional philosophy is diminished when practical philosophy is placed on the horizon of applied philosophy and applied ethics, alongside bioethics, professional ethics, and philosophy of responsibility. The authors outline philosophical and ethical counseling as a continuum of philosophical practice, along with other discursive practices, aimed at achieving rational interpretive consensus. The book presents the vision according to which practical philosophy or applied philosophy is based on a constructionist and postmodern epistemology. Thus, philosophical practice becomes, at the same time, an autonomous area of philosophy, a part of applied ethics and a profession. (romanian edition)
