Chesterton has dared in these stories to reflect the complexity, hypocrisy and moral drama that are evident when an individual character, Horne Fisher, whose personal and family relationships with the highest figures in politics (including the Prime Minister) allow him to be a privileged spectator of state crimes allegedly carried out for the common good. A political journalist, Harold March accompanies Fisher on his adventures, but does not enjoy the same relevance as the Watson of Sherlock Holmes, but serves as the interlocutor of Fisher's reasoning and disquisitions. His father worked at a real estate company and was a fervent Anglican who tried to instill this faith in his children. He began his literary scuffles by editing his first magazine called G. K. Weekly. His logical rationing inspired him in the creation of the mythical character embodied in a detective priest, whose first title was The Innocence of Father Brown (1911), which followed the trail of Arthur Conan Doyle's style.
