Renaissance science, because in his research he used the rational and deductive methods of that time. At the same time he paved the way for modern science, as he relied especially on experimentation. He was an important physicist and mathematician, who had an extraordinary influence on philosophy, for his lines of thought and his knowledge crowned the change of the conception of the world. He opened, in turn, new paths and powerfully influenced the development of science in 17th and 18th century Europe.
