Isaac Newton can be considered the last representative of Renaissance science, since in his researches he used the rational and deductive methods of that time. His work in mathematics and physics was influenced by the historical and cultural context in which he lived and his contributions to the thinking of his time subsequently went beyond the realm of science and influenced philosophical, religious and social thought.
