In the twenty first century, rights of indigenous peoples emerge as a crucial issue. Challenges in substantiating and materializing these rights still remain a matter of critical analysis. Defining the rights, delimiting the extent of such rights and identifying agents to carry out the functions remain important subjects to analyze. Indigenous rights remain a multi disciplinary phenomenon that may include wide range of topics related to cultural, socio economical, geographical questions. Role of governments and international organizations in supporting and materializing the rights of indigenous peoples still remains crucial as in many places the indigenous communities are not equipped and organized enough to carry out such agenda. Community participation and self initiatives from indigenous groups appear as crucial in mainstreaming the indigenous rights in the concerned discourse. This book aims to discuss select issues on indigenous rights concerned to indigenous communities living in the regions of Scandinavia, Australia and North America.
