Occupations such as vegetable market, grain market and poultry farm, where the workers are exposed to a heavy load of organic dust pose a risk for pulmonary disorders, which is evident by the altered pulmonary function tests showing obstructive or restrictive or both obstructive and restrictive changes. The outcome of the study intends towards the policymakers to modify the surroundings of these workers so as to reduce the dust exposure and similarly, encourage the use of masks by the workers to reduce the severity of exposure. The study also targets the students of scientific research to undertake further research on the bioaerosol component of organic dust and explore the exposure levels.
